There's no version check or license confirmation on startup or any diagnostics. Rest assured, protecting your data is our
number one priority. There is a manual version checker but the user is responsible to Check For Updates periodically
in the More Info section of the Add-in
After clicking one of the download buttons the browser might ask you to keep the file. You can check the browser's download folder to look for a file that starts with 'ItMakesSense' + Version.msi. The name of the file changes with each patch/version. This is part of the reason you are asked to 'Keep.' There's a couple other possible messages after downloading in which you might have to select More Info or Keep to continue. Once the installer starts you will notice JDR Group as the publisher with a blue banner. This is proof that the code signing certificate is working and the .msi/.exe hasn't been maliciously changed by an attack on the website.
This is a MS Project Add-in (VSTO - Visual Studio Tools for Office using C#). It requires MS Project and/or MS Excel 2010 and higher to run.
Once the installation completes successfully you will see the menu in MS Project next time you open it. There is no prompt to ask you to close MS Project and/or MS Excel and it's not required to install but you will need to close them if they're currently open to see the new menu's
